‘Get my dad back or I’ll burn myself’
PESHAWAR: A tribal student from the Khyber Agency has threatened to set himself and his siblings alight outside the Parliament House in Islamabad if the government did not rescue his father and grandfather, who were kidnapped for ransom in August. Raffique, a grade 10 student, has accused the political administration of conniving with the alleged gang of kidnappers from Tirah valley in Khyber Agency. He said on Tuesday that his father, Haji Qasim Gul, and grandfather, Haji Amal Shah, were in a private jail in an inaccessible valley, about four kilometres from a new military check post set up in the area for the first time. He said his father and grandfather were intercepted by the kidnappers, led by Wakil Khan, when they were going to Bara Market from their house in Kajori. He alleged that Wakil Khan was an employee of the Khassadar Force and ran a gang of outlaws He said the kidnappers demanded Rs 10 million, 20 Kalashnikov assault rifles and vehicle documents. staff report
